Consubstantial – the new big word in the Nicene Creed – what does it mean?  Consubstantial is the belief about the relationship of the Father and the Son; that "in the Father and with the Father, the Son is one and the same God" (CCC, no. 262).

2012 MISSION TRIP INFORMATION

When:  June 24-30, 2012
Cost:  $500

WHO:  10th – 12th Graders
(you must have completed your freshman year to participate)

A powerful tornado slammed into Joplin, Mo., on May 22, 2011, killing 116 people as it ripped the top off a hospital, sheared parts of the roof off a high school and turned homes and major retail stores into heaps of rubble.  The twister cut a nearly six-mile path through the middle of the southwestern Missouri town of 50,000 on a day that a series of turbulent storms swept through the Midwest.  This town has been rebuilding and now we, the Church of St. Boniface High School Youth are going to help out any way we can!

Deadline to sign up is December 30th, 2011. Deposit of $50 required at time of sign up.  Payments of $100 per month for January-April, 2012. Final payment of $50 due in May 2012.

A note from Catholic Mission Trips:

Hello Sandee,

Attached is the contract for your mission trip to Joplin Mo.  I just got back from Joplin and the devastation from the tornado was so humbling.  There are literally hundreds upon hundreds of homes that need rebuilt.  We will have our work cut out for us this summer.  I hope your teens are ready to work.  This will be a great experience for your youth!

Reflection for CHRISTMAS

The Good News of Christmas is that God does not allow Himself to be shut out.  When there was no room at the inn, He found a stable.  You may think that there is no real room in your busy life for God because of school, friends, sports, music, activities etc., take up so much room.  Yet in the midst of this, God finds space if you invite Him in.  God wants to be close to us.  Because of this, the infinite God of the universe made Himself small enough to fit into a manager, small enough to fit into our lives.  He made Himself small so that we can understand Him, welcome Him, and love Him.  However much room you have allowed for Christ in your life before, will you, this Christmas, invite the Christchild in to your life in a new way?
